Here’s a line defying the codes of westernization and perpetually remaining loyal to their soil. The not-your-typical Japanese streetwear company Shigoto Ltd pays tribute to its cultures and ancient values, Though aesthetically traditional, their brilliantly crafted designs evoke contemporary flair which should easily whet the appetite of today’s eclectic fashionistas.
Most their attentively paid to details designs offer a trendy twist on the dress codes adopted by Japanese construction workers to samurai and ninja warriors.
What actually caught my eye was their split toe boots, also known as Tabi shoes.
Hold up. Why the split toe? Aside from offering a distinct look, it provides fine balance for your feet, and grants independence to your big toe. How’s that for a unique offer.
Here are some additional built-in characteristics which prove their shoes also as functional:
1. Durable rubber bottom to withstand the rough surfaces during construction sites.
2. Strong gripping mechanism ensuring that you don’t slip or skid off track.
3. Shock-absorbent air-soles – giving you a bare feet feeling with our pain or strain.
Though the shoes look simple, they sure come ready with a complex structure. Other special item features include Tobi Pants, T-Shirts, and Teko Wristbands.
Before I jet to bed, here’s a little history on Japan for you guys.
Shigoto’s collection are all specially engineered and manufactured in Okayama, the home of Japanese indigo denim.
P.S I have a special interview with the founder of Shigoto which I’ll be posting within a couple days!
